General Statement of Duties

Performs complex professional work in human resource administration; does related work as required.

Essential Duties

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource administration as they may relate to the division assigned; ability to present ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County officials, employees and the public; ability to evaluate applicants' qualifications accurately and to conduct interviews effectively; good oral presentation and training skills; ability to learn the technical work and procedures of a human resource area such as job analysis, job classification, salary determination, employee selection, training, computer technology or benefits administration; ability to keep statistical records and to make regular and special reports; good knowledge of personal computers and/or automated systems and the ability to enter, retrieve and analyze data; tact; courtesy.

A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.

 

 

Minimum Requirements

Possession of a bachelor's degree, preferably in personnel or human resource administration, public administration or a related field, and three (3) years of professional human resources work experience related to the area of assignment; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
